Make up tips

Below you will find some important makeup beauty tips that will help you understand how to look beautiful as well as taking care of your body and overall help you stay healthy.

• For proper hygiene, don’t use outdated cosmetics, particularly around the eye area and never share your makeup with anyone.

• Always use good lighting and a clean mirror.

• Wear light makeup in the summer. Heavy foundation makeup will cake and melt off in the summer heat and humidity, leaving you with a streaked look.

• Very important makeup beauty tips. Your eyes are very delicate, so it’s important to be aware of various eye makeup safety issues that can lead to injury or infection.

• Sharing eye makeup with a friend may also result in transferring infection-causing bacteria. Resist the urge and only use your own personal makeup.

• Don’t use eye makeup refills. Your old cases and applicators may still harbor harmful bacteria, and you could be contaminating your fresh shadow by reusing these old items.

• Glitter shadows can cause injury if they flake into your eyes. Small particles of glitter can scratch the surface of the eye and even become imbedded in the tissue, requiring removal by your physician.

• Be careful with shimmer products, especially on your eyes; they tend to collect in creases.

• If you have large and open eyes, don’t use loud or bright colors that will over emphasize the fullness. You want them to be soft and keep a person’s attention.

• Ask for samples at the cosmetics counter but not before determining your skin type.

• Use a foundation with a sunscreen with at least SPF 15 to prevent future skin damage.

• Your foundation should match your face and neck, so don’t try it on your hand or arm for color a match.

• Don’t forget to apply foundation on your eyelids, lips and into your neck for a more natural look. This also is a good setting for eye shadow and lipstick and helps it stay on longer.

• You will probably need a different shade of foundation for each season, so don’t use the same one all year long. Blending colors sometimes is the only way to get a perfect match.

• For clear complexions, sometimes all you need is a tinted moisturizer for a natural look. Learn which type of foundation will create the perfect base for you.

• For dry skin, apply a light moisturizer before your foundation.

• Use a concealer for those nasty blemishes and pat lightly with pressed powder.

• Powder foundation is ideal for oily skin and will help reduce shine.

• If your foundation is too heavy, add a couple drops of moisturizer to thin.

• Apply acne treatments first if you need them. Put them on before you apply moisturizer or foundation, so they can get to work on your skin.

• After applying make-up, go outside or near a window to check for blunders.

• Take off your makeup every night. Remove eye makeup first, then the rest of your makeup.

• Save your skin from premature lines and wrinkles. Always wear an SPF 15 or higher sunscreen. Make it easy; apply foundation that has a built-in SPF.

• Wash your brushes to avoid breakouts and to help bristles last longer.

• Don’t expose makeup to germs. Never share makeup. Never add liquid to a product, or you may add bacteria as well. If you have an eye infection, don’t use eye makeup and throw away all the products you used when you discovered the infection. The same rule applies to lip products if you get a canker sore.

• Flying can dry out your skin. If you’re traveling, apply a face cream and a lip balm before you take off. Drink lots of water and skip caffeine, alcohol and salt to stay fresh and hydrated.
